Senior Engineering Consultant – Waste Management

WasteRecruit are pleased to be supporting a leading Consultancy based in Australia to recruit a Senior /Principal level Waste Engineer to join on a permanent full-time basis in their Newcastle (NSW) office. This position will lead the Waste Engineering Service offering on the East Coast of Australia.

The position duties include, but are not limited to:

• Technical input on design projects including landfills, waste transfer stations and recycling facilities
• feasibility assessements and financial modelling
• Preparation of design documentation including specifications, bills of quantities, designers risks assessment and construction quality assurance plans;
• Tendering of construction works (including local government procurement process)
• Management of stakeholders, including clients, external bodies and internal partners.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

    -Civil / Environmental / Geotechnical Engineering degree or similar

    -Solid experience on waste management infrastructure or similar design projects

    -Construction quality assurance and superintendent experience for landfills or similar facilities

    -Technical involvement in earthworks, roads, drainage and other public works projects

    -Experience leading Modelers/Drafters in design works

    -Experience in project management and managing staff

    -Ideally experience in hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations

    -Excellent reporting and communication skills

    -Strong AutoCAD appreciation and similar packages

    -Assist in identifying and securing business development opportunities
