Find a Job
I’ve worked in environmental recruitment since 1996 and in 2003 established WasteRecruit as the first specialist recruiter in the sector. I’ve worked across pretty much every industrial sector and recruited into pretty much any discipline you can think of.
I graduated with a BSc in Environmental Management and I’m a Fellow of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation. Additionally, I’m a member of the CIWM.
I’m passionate about helping clients to recruit great people and there’s nothing more satisfying than hearing how well a new recruit is getting on.
Outside of work my family takes up the majority of my time. I’m also a keen hockey player and a Level 2 coach with Yateley Hockey Club. When time allows I love a round of golf.
I’ve been working in environmental recruitment since 2000 and in 2003 I was instrumental in establishing WasteRecruit as the first specialist recruiter within the resource management, recycling and renewable energy sectors. With more than 16 years’ experience, I’m one of the most experienced recruiters in my chosen field.
I graduated with a BSc in Biology from Bath University and followed this up with an MSc in Environmental Management & Technology from Oxford Brookes. I also gained a distinction in Recruitment Practice run by the Recruitment Employment Confederation (REC).
I’m a passionate and ethical recruiter and I’ve helped more than a thousand candidates to find new jobs. With a strong technical and commercial focus I’m very comfortable discussing the intricacies of jobs with clients and I’ve got a reputation for honesty, integrity and most importantly delivery.
Having watched the changes the sector has gone through over the past decade, I’m well-informed about how I can support clients grow and candidates develop.
Outside work I’m kept very busy with my family and when time allows, I enjoy playing golf.
I joined WasteRecruit in October 2014 after completing a BSc in Geology at Durham University and MSc in Environmental Geography at Texas Tech University. Since I started working for WasteRecruit I have loved learning about the waste industry, from the innovative ways global FM companies manage waste through behavioural change to seeing a busy transfer station in action.
I have worked with clients in the UK and overseas, my recent successes include; an operations manager and transport manager in Bahrain; a General Manager for a national hazardous waste specialist; an HSE Manager for an AD/biogas company and a Contracts Manager for a leading TWM provider.
When I’m not in the office you can find me getting my hands dirty in my allotment, I love growing my own fruit and vegetable and coming up with ways to recycle and upcycle in the garden.
I’m WasteRecruit’s resident business psychologist and I’ve been working for the business since 2012.
I originally wanted to be an accountant, but saw the light in my early 20’s and after a number of years travelling the world decided return to University and study psychology.
Since completing my MSc in Occupational Psychology in 2006, I’ve designed and delivered numerous assessment and development projects in the UK and Middle East for a wide variety of clients including Transport for London, Olive Group – for the Abu Dhabi civil and Police services, The Hills Group and Mitie Waste and Environmental, to name a few.
I specialise in helping clients improve their recruitment decisions by adding science to their natural gut feel. I’m a specialist in group psychology and how this influences individual attitudes, behaviour and performance in the work place. Ask me about it, it’s fascinating stuff!
Outside of work I play hockey and I’m currently working towards my Level 2 coaching badge. I spend a lot of time with my wife out walking our crazy Boxer. If I have any time left over then I also enjoy watching pretty much any sport on telly.
I joined WasteRecruit in 2011 and I’m the office manager, looking after administration, answering the phone and generally making sure that everything is running smoothly.
Outside of work I’m a busy mum and to relax we spend as much time as we can in our villa in Spain.
