The Role

We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Sales Manager to lead the development of our vacuum tanker rental offering, complementing our existing fuel and ADR fleet. This is a broad, strategic role that blends sales, operations, and market positioning. You’ll be instrumental in building a new business stream from the ground up while shaping product offerings, customer experience, and operational delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with deep sector knowledge and entrepreneurial energy to make a real impact in a fast-growing, family-run business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and grow a vacuum tank rental proposition (e.g., vacuum and combi jetting units).

  • Manage asset specifications, procurement, and return/maintenance policies.

  • Own P&L accountability—develop and scale a solid revenue pipeline.

  • Develop market-leading offers with no hidden charges, driving customer retention.

  • Collaborate with operational teams to pilot equipment and coordinate asset rollouts.

  • Represent Tanker Rent UK Ltd at key industry events and lead new market positioning strategies.

  • Act as the sector specialist and thought leader in waste and industrial service rentals.

Location and Travel

This is a home-based role with national coverage. Regular travel across the UK and Ireland is expected to engage customers, attend industry events, and liaise with internal teams. Occasional visits to our Leighton Buzzard HQ will be required.

What We’re Looking for in You

Essential Experience & Sector Knowledge

  • Proven success in rental, capital equipment, or industrial services—ideally with vacuum tankers.

  • Knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid sectors and existing client/supplier networks.

  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle, equipment specification, and sourcing.

  • Skilled in contract negotiation and customer retention.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering revenue growth.

  • Resilient under pressure—able to handle challenges and maintain momentum.
