Graduate Site Chemist
We are looking for an enthusiastic Chemistry Graduate to join a specialist waste management company in the West Midlands.
Why work in waste?
The UK produces around 330 million tonnes of waste a year and while there are lots of fantastic initiatives to reduce and recycle the fact is we all produce waste.
While it doesn’t sound the most glamorous of jobs, it’s an enormously important one and a graduate career in this field can be very rewarding
So, if you are willing to get your hands dirty (sometimes literally) then this could be the job for you!
What does a site chemist do?
You will work as part of a team of other chemists and site operatives. Most of your time will be spent working outside in the waste reception yard. You will be responsible for inspecting chemical waste coming into the site and making sure it is compliant with the site permit.
With your knowledge of chemistry, you will provide guidance to the operatives and plan where different chemicals should be stored based on what can be stored together and what must be segregated.
You will prepare the waste for onward transfer this will include repackaging and labeling as well as completing all relevant paperwork.

What do I need to apply?
