Mechanical Maintenance Technician

WasteRecruit is proud to support a leading renewable energy company in their search for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organization dedicated to innovation and sustainability.

Role Purpose

You will apply your mechanical expertise to conduct planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance tasks. Your work will ensure equipment uptime, protect company assets, and contribute to a data-led decision-making culture by maintaining accurate records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Initially the role starts on 5 day week, 40 hours worked a week. Once trained and circa June 2025 will move to 4on4off dayshift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance tasks safely, accurately, and on time.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments (RAs).
  • Ensure maintenance data is recorded accurately to assess trends and drive decisions.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to maximize plant efficiency.

Experience

  • Essential:
    • 2+ years in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
    • Hands-on experience with comparable plant/equipment.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience within COMPEX/ATEX regulatory environments.
    • Familiarity with working under a Quality Management System (QMS).

Qualifications

  • HNC in Engineering Practice/Mechanical Engineering, or
  • Completed Modern Apprenticeship, or
  • N/SVQ Level 3 – Mechanical ECITB (or equivalent).
  • Valid UK Driver’s License is essential.
