HGV Class 1 Driver
Our client, a leading waste management operator, is looking to recruit an HGV Class 1 Driver to take responsibility for operating and driving company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, whilst meeting all legislative and company standards.
Duties and key responsibilities:
- Complete vehicle daily checks and ensure vehicle is roadworthy
- To promptly report any vehicle defects or damage to the line manager
- To ensure that loads are safe and legally compliant at all times
- Check and correctly use any paperwork issued in relation to the load(s) carried
- Ensure that all legislation regarding EU tachograph regulations are met
- Keep vehicles clean and in good order
- Communicate any customer issues promptly to the line manager
- To drive in a safe and efficient manner at all times, complying with all road legislation
Experience, qualifications and training:
- Current HGV Class 1 Licence
- Some form CPC training already undertaken
- 3 years minimum of driving artics or similar size vehicle
- Landfill experience or waste industry history
Personal attributes and other requirements:
- Good time keeping and attendance record
- Considerate and approachable manner
- The ability to work on own initiative and to work with others as a part of a team.
