Applicants are likely to be educated to degree level in a civil engineering discipline. Technical Compliance Manager Scotland £-Neg

They are looking to secure the services of a seasoned Waste Management Professional to assume the role of Technical Compliance Manager and be heavily involved in the development of the business.
The post will be based near Glasgow but will involve occasional travel as required. This is a diverse role and the ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of the workings of the UK Waste Management Industry and be able to advise the organisation on issue relating to legal compliance as well as implementing key projects in order to increase the operational portfolio for its clients.
It is expected you will have experience in the operation of waste management services either as an operational manager or trainee. You will have a working knowledge of waste handling systems, current and proposed legislation and have some knowledge of the requirements of compliance scheme implementation. You will be familiar with the implementation of Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety management systems and any qualifications in these fields will be given consideration.
The role will involve managing, auditing and improving the 14001 and 9001 systems in place; ensuring HSE compliance across the company; technical management of the company including focusing on hazardous waste management and WAC as well as the WEEE directive and packaging wastes including the establishment of a compliance scheme. Additionally we are looking for someone who is commercially sharp and can support the growth of the company.
